The Buran Ghati Trek is a hidden gem in the Pabbar Valley of Himachal Pradesh. It offers a perfect blend of lush meadows, pine forests, snowfields, and thrilling mountain passes.
Starting from the charming village of Janglik, this trek takes you through Dayara meadows, Chandranahan Lake, and culminates in a dramatic descent through the Buran Pass (15,000 ft).
Ideal for trekkers looking for adventure, alpine beauty, and less crowded Himalayan trails.

Day 1: Shimla → Janglik (9,200 ft)

Drive from Shimla to Janglik (approx. 8–9 hrs via Rohru).
Scenic mountain roads through pine and apple valleys.
Evening arrival at the base village, trek briefing & acclimatization walk.
🛏️ Overnight stay: Guesthouse / campsite in Janglik

Day 2: Janglik → Dayara Thach (11,000 ft)

Begin the trek with a gradual ascent through forests and meadows.
The trail opens up into a wide alpine pasture – Dayara Thach, surrounded by snow peaks.
🛏️ Overnight stay: Camp at Dayara Thach

Day 3: Dayara Thach → Litham (11,700 ft)

A scenic 5–6 km trek alongside mountain streams and small waterfalls.
Stunning campsite at Litham offering panoramic valley views.
🛏️ Overnight stay: Camp at Litham

Day 4: Litham → Chandranahan Lake → Litham

Excursion day to the sacred glacial Chandranahan Lake (13,900 ft).
Enjoy snowfields and glacier-fed streams.
Return to Litham for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Litham → Dhunda (13,300 ft)

Trek towards Dhunda through snow patches and rugged trails.
Enjoy first views of Buran Pass and surrounding peaks.

Day 6: Dhunda → Buran Pass (15,000 ft) → Barua (8,200 ft)

Early morning climb to Buran Ghati Pass, the highlight of the trek.
Steep snow wall descent (with ropes if required) and thrilling views of both valleys.
Descend to Barua village in Kinnaur.
🛏️ Overnight stay: Camp / homestay at Barua

Day 7: Barua → Shimla

Drive from Barua to Shimla via Karcham / Rohru (approx. 8 hrs).
Trip ends with memories of an unforgettable Himalayan adventure.
